Product Description
Green IT is often equated with poor performance because high efficiency is usually only possible with limited power The HDD specialist Seagate proves with the BarraCuda now the opposite That this is an economical model is clear On the other hand hard drives are not really the power guzzlers in the PC so the real saving effect should not be overstatedIt is therefore rather surprising that the HDD despite a significantly lower power consumption percentage enables a rich data transfer of 190 megabytes per second The BarraCuda achieves this dream value with a speed of 5400 rpm Nevertheless it remains restrained in terms of volume development and offers a lot of storage space with 8 TBThe cache is also very large with 256 megabytes With 190 MB s the limit of the SATA 2 port is no longer far away but the SATA 6G built in here not only offers the advantage of a higher bandwidth The protocol has also been significantly streamlined for example to increase energy efficiency and to optimize the transmission of multiple simultaneous high-bandwidth data streamsThe BarraCuda is very economical quiet and at the same time enormously fast also in comparison with many HDDs of other manufacturers So Green-IT not only convinces the mind but also the heartTechnical details- Dimensions 10185 x 2611 x 14699 mm (W x H x D)- Format 35 inches- Weight 630 g- Capacity 8 TB- Speed 5400 RPM- Cache 256 MB- Continuous data transfer rate 190 MB s- Connection SATA 6G- Power consumption (no load average) 34 53 W- Starting current max 2 A- Operating temperature 0 - 60 &176; C
